Get Involved At East Chestnut Mennonite Church

Building Community

Our church family loves to socialize, especially over good food! We enjoy a variety of meals, picnics, and retreats throughout the year.

Chestnut Housing Corporation

At Chestnut Housing Corporation (CHC), we believe that a safe, permanent, and affordable home is the foundation of a healthy and fulfilling life. We provide affordable rental housing for families experiencing homelessness.

Children & Youth

Children & Youth are a vital part of our church family. Learn more about our programs and Safe Church policies here.

There are many commissions and committees that help East Chestnut provide for our congregation and our community.

Creation Care

Caring for God’s creation as a church community and learning to be good stewards of natural resources is a theme we’ve integrated into our church mission, life, commissions, and activities.

Fair Trade Coffee

Delicious Cafe Campesiono coffee can be enjoyed here at East Chestnut on Sunday mornings, or at home through monthly orders! Proceeds from coffee sales support our youth group.

Mission Commission

The East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church Mission Commission seeks to:

-Discern and give guidance to the congregation on missional strategies and activities

-Equip and encourage the congregation to undertake mission outreach activities with their time, prayers, & finances

Monday Night Meals

Every Monday evening, East Chestnut Street hosts a meal for any in the community who wish to attend.

Small Groups

Groups meet to provide opportunity for interested persons (usually 3-8 persons) for the purpose of developing deeper, supportive relationships and strengthening ties to the larger congregation.

Our groups vary in their focus, from worship, sharing our lives, prayer, meals, game nights, to men’s and women’s groups, triads of men or women, and intergenerational groups with children.
